CBAA WARNING - OUR COMMENT
Late last year the CBAA issued a "warning" to all Community Radio Stations to be wary of taking up "Commercial" news services such as, quote, Fairfax, Macquarie and AIR News, unquote.
Now, whilst AIR News is happy to be regarded as a major News player in this country it's important that everyone realise what we are about. As far as a "Commercial" service is concerned, AIR News receives no public funding, grants etc, unlike certain competitors. It is fully funded by the client stations that take the service. Because AIR News is primarily targeted at Community Radio Stations, our news bulletins are designed to work in such a way as to give stations the ability to self-brand the facility, in other words to "own" the service. There is NOTHING in the AIR News service which ever breaches ACMA regulations for Community Stations. In other words our focus is Community. The fact that some Commercial stations have opted to take AIR News shows the faith that Radio station management has in the product that we deliver, which is at all times PROFESSIONAL.
